Dog-Friendly Glamping: Celebrating Our Lovely Pup’s Birthday

Dolly, our Parson Russell Terrier

To mark our lovely dog Dolly’s birthday on 16th July and National Dog Day on 26th August, we thought it fitting to talk about our four-legged friends and the joy they bring to our lives.

The Health Benefits of Owning a Dog

Unconditional love, ultimate companionship and never-ending entertainment are just some of the benefits of owning a dog. But did you know that a positive human-animal relationship can also help boost your health and reduce your risk of developing certain illnesses? Here are just some of the ways in which dogs can bring health and happiness to our lives…

Dogs help you stay active

Taking your dog for a walk, hike, or run are fantastic ways to introduce healthy daily exercise into your schedule. Many dog owners spend more time outdoors, dramatically improving their overall health and wellbeing.

Dogs help reduce stress

We all know that life can be stressful! Owning a pet can be an asset to your mental health, helping reduce anxiety and boost serotonin and dopamine production. Reducing stress is the key to enjoying a longer, healthier life.

Dogs help combat loneliness

Our furry friends offer emotional support and endless cuddles that help us feel comforted, reducing feelings of social isolation. It can also provide opportunities to meet new people, as you stop and chat whilst out walking.

It’s a legacy that’s lived right on to this day and one we wholeheartedly embrace. Not only are we fortunate to be nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, we live and breathe nature and its many benefits.

There’s no pounding the treadmill at Swallowfields, just beautiful walks with wonderful vistas provided by nature. Come visit our retreat and enhance your wellbeing in the best way for you, from reading a book and taking naps in your own hammock to cooking on a campfire and enjoying spa treatments.
