Top 5 Festive Events in the Malvern Hills

1) Winter Glow at Three Counties Showground (24th November 2023 – 6th January 2024)

Immerse yourself in the ultimate Christmas experience this year as you head to Winter Glow at the Three Counties Showground. The magical lineup offers a fantastic range of activities the whole family will enjoy, including meeting Santa in his Grotto (with a personalised invitation from Santa in the post!), ice skating, an illuminated light trail, fairground rides, a Christmas market, plus a delicious food quarter. It’s the biggest festive event in the three counties and it’s one you truly don’t want to miss!

2) Christmas at Croome (25th November 2023 – 5th January 2024)

Celebrate Christmas in a totally unique way this year. At the National Trust’s lavish Croome estate, you’ll find a cascading origami bird installation, rooms decorated with Christmas trees and elegant sparkle, craft workshops, and festive choirs. As you step outside into the gardens, you’ll find seven colourful fibreglass bird sculptures, creating a fun family sculpture trail across the parkland. This creative Christmas celebration was inspired by Croome’s Thomas Bewick: Looking Closely exhibition, which delved into shapes, forms and colours in the natural world. A must-see this festive season!

3) Winter Wonderland at Ralph Court Gardens (1st December 2023 – 7th January 2024)

Venture into Ralph Court Gardens this Christmas as they open up this year’s Winter Wonderland. The gardens will be transformed with a musical fountain dancing to festive songs, cheery Christmas inflatables to wave hello to, and Victorian carollers to complete the magical scene. Gather round and listen to Christmas stories read by Boris the bear and hear the singing reindeer (supported by the donkey!). They guarantee snow flurries every day, so be sure to wrap up warm.

4) Christmas at The Firs (first three weekends in December)

The perfect place to take little ones this festive season is The Firs, a cosy National Trust cottage decked out in twinkling lights and natural decorations. From 15th – 18th December, you can book a ticket to meet Father Christmas himself, too! The elves will greet you as you arrive at the letter writing station to tell Santa what’s on your Christmas list. In the cottage, you’ll get to meet Santa and tell him your Christmas wishes in person, and then you’ll move on to the toy making station where you can pick a gift to take home. You can finish off your visit with an adventure around the candy cane woodland, and a hot chocolate in the elves’ lunchroom.

5) Cinderella at Malvern Theatres (14th December 2023 – 7th January 2024)

No festive trip is complete without a visit to the panto… oh, no it isn’t! Head over to Malvern Theatres for a magical performance of Cinderella, a Christmas spectacular the whole family is sure to enjoy. Starring Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn as the Fairy Godmother and Malvern’s favourite funny man Mark James as Buttons, everyone is sure to enjoy this festive adventure full of side-splitting comedy, stunning sets, and sensational costumes. You shall go to the ball!
