First Time Glamping? Here’s What You Might Want To Bring

There’s nothing like a glamping break to delight the senses, the excitement of discovering somewhere new, sleeping in an unfamiliar bed and taking in all the sights and sounds of your new surroundings.

Here at Swallowfields we endeavour to provide you with the most luxurious glamping stay you can imagine, and although we think we’ve thought of everything, a glamping break can be made more enjoyable still if you come prepared.

Despite our accommodation providing many of the luxuries you’d expect from a top hotel, there will be more rustic elements that you might need to be prepared for!

Hardcore campers treating themselves to a weekend of glamping are likely to be prepared for all eventualities, but if you’ve never been glamping before, we thought it would be useful to put together some essentials that you should pack to ensure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Our luxury canvas Spa Lodges are all about rustic chic with a touch of glamour, so all the facilities you’d expect from a good hotel room are included. From a coffee machine (and complimentary tea and coffee) through to your very own cocktail trolley stocked with locally sourced Malvern spring water.

There’s even wifi, and flat screen TV, DVD player and board games as well as a fully equipped kitchen and ensuite facilities, so you won’t have to worry about pulling on your wellies, finding a torch and traipsing across the field in the middle of the night when nature calls!

What can you purchase on site?

  • Logs for your wood burner and firepit
  • Coals for your barbecue
  • A veriety of different hampers
  • Treat yourself boxes
  • HomeCooked menu
  • Food and drink essentials from our on-site store

What to bring with you

  • Swallowfields is rurally located, so appropriate footwear is a must. Think cosy Ugg boots for inside your Spa Lodge (though slippers and bath robes are provided!) and wellies or walking boots for outside, especially important just in case the weather turns.
  • Warm and snuggly clothing for chilling out in, and extra layers like waterproofs for when you are exploring the site on foot or out and about.
  • A torch is a good idea, especially if you fancy exploring by twilight.
  • Mobile phone, charger and cables for your electrical devices, even if you don’t get great reception, you’ll still be able to use wifi, so being able to communicate with the outside world won’t be an issue.
  • If you’ve got a fancy camera, don’t forget to bring it with you as you might want to capture more than just a few phone snaps during your stay!
  • Food and drink can be purchased from us, and there are heaps of tasty options, but if you’ve got a favourite meal you fancy rustling up, bringing enough for a meal or two during your stay and a few of your facourite snacks could be a good idea. Don’t forget though, you’ll receive a free welcome food pack including fresh bread, milk, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, sparkling water and a delicious welcome treat.
  • Swim wear is easily forgotten but it might save you some blushes when it comes to using the hot tub!
  • Outdoor gear is a must if you’re planning on heading out for a walk in the hills or going cycling, speaking of which, did you know you can even hire bikes from us?
  • Each Spa Lodge has a TV and DVD and so you might like to bring along a few of your favourite DVD’s.
  • Although we do provide some toiletries including hand and body wash, hand and body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, you might have some favourite toiletries you want to bring along.  We provide a hairdryer in each Spa Lodge but you may also wish to bring along your hair straighteners.
  • Don’t forget to bring any prescribed medication and sun tan lotion.
  • WELLBEING BREAKS

Malvern has long been associated with healthy living, ever since it originated as a spa town. Many benefits have been linked to its spring water, as well as people. Charles Darwin, Queen Victoria and Florence Nightingale are all said to have enjoyed its therapeutic qualities.

It’s a legacy that’s lived right on to this day and one we wholeheartedly embrace. Not only are we fortunate to be nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, we live and breathe nature and its many benefits.

There’s no pounding the treadmill at Swallowfields, just beautiful walks with wonderful vistas provided by nature. Come visit our retreat and enhance your wellbeing in the best way for you, from reading a book and taking naps in your own hammock to cooking on a campfire and enjoying spa treatments. Our world awaits you…
