Meadow Spa: Introducing Our NEW Spa Treatments & Yoga Space

Seeking a totally relaxing, blissful break in the English countryside? Look no further than Swallowfields Luxury Glamping Retreat! We have developed our third safari lodge to create our new Meadow Spa: a private and relaxing space for spa treatments and yoga, bookable through our wonderful spa therapist. 

Here at Meadow Spa, we specialise in natural treatments in beautiful surroundings to help you unwind and rejuvenate. The sound of birdsong fills the tranquil Bali-inspired space, which includes a deck to relax with freshly picked herb tea and a private garden perfect for yoga in the summer months. Meadow Spa features a treatment room with relaxing candles, aromatic scents, tranquil sounds, and a soft summer breeze, complete with a cosy log fire for the autumn months.

The yoga space is calming and inviting, with a soothing atmosphere that makes you feel at peace as soon as you enter. Our deluxe yoga mats feature fantastic elephant prints made from the latest environmental materials. The cool deep green canvas, bamboo candle lanterns and meditation cushions transform this space into a serene meditation room and reinforce the feeling of being outside in nature.

Did you know that our original idea for Swallowfields was to create an all-inclusive nature spa? We took inspiration from the history of Great Malvern as a magical spa town and the many famous people who flocked to the waters for their holistic healing benefits.

Meadow Spa Treatments Menu

Shaped by our love of nature, Meadow Spa offers luxurious treatments and yoga sessions in an idyllic setting amongst birdsong, wildflowers, and butterflies. Each treatment has been carefully selected to ensure your stay with us is relaxing, luxurious, and nothing short of heavenly. Choose a powerful yet soothing massage using the finest Neal’s Yard essential oils to create a total sense of wellbeing.

Massages

  • Indian Head Massage – the Indian Head massage is a beautifully grounding, deeply relaxing, and invigorating massage. Release the pent-up tension surrounding your head, scalp, face, neck, and shoulders.
  • Pregnancy Massage – nurture yourself and your baby during this memorable time with a specialist pregnancy massage. Tackles back pain, aching legs, and tense shoulders that come with pregnancy. Safe from 12 weeks till birth.
  • Energy Balancing Massage – this fully immersive massage nurtures every part of your body, leaving you feeling balanced and renewed. Working with the natural body flow and chakras, this gentle but effective massage covers all areas from head to toe.
  • Deep Tissue Massage – helps tackle old injuries, postural issues, stress-related problems, and tension. This massage combines stretches, massage, and pressure point release techniques, targeting the areas where you need it the most.
  • Hopi Ear Candles & Head Massage – this native American treatment is deeply relaxing, treating a range of ailments, including sinus and ear problems, tension headaches, and eye strain. Organic linen ear candles are used.

Organic Aromatherapy Facial

This beautifully pampering hands-on facial uses Neal’s Yard Organic remedies to cleanse, exfoliate, nourish, and massage the skin, promoting a younger, healthier, and clearer complexion. All facials are adjusted to your skin type and concerns.

Manicure

This complete hand treatment includes filing, cutting, and shaping the nails, nourishing and tidying the cuticles, and a relaxing hand and arm massage – all finished off with a colour of your choice.

Pedicure

This complete foot care treatment includes filing, cutting, and shaping the nails, nourishing and tidying the cuticles, removing dead skin from the feet, and a relaxing foot massage – all finished with a colour of choice.

Swallowfields Signature Treatment

Experience 90 minutes of pure bliss with the Swallowfields Signature Treatment. This truly indulgent treatment involves a full body massage, facial, heated towels, reiki healing, and a bespoke aromatherapy blend. You will leave feeling grounded yet light as a feather.

In addition to our spa treatments, you can book 1-to-1 and group yoga sessions.

Yoga 1-to-1s

This tailor-made one-hour yoga session will be held in the magical Meadow Spa. These sessions are suitable for all and are tailor-made for you, catering for everyone from the complete beginner to yoga novices—all equipment provided.

Just Breathe x Swallowfields: Getting To Know Sian, Our Amazing Spa Therapist

We have collaborated with the amazing Sian from Just Breathe to exclusively offer our guests mindfulness, yoga, massage and beauty treatments. Sian is fully trained and qualified in all areas of beauty treatments – however, bodywork and massage are where her true passion lies. She is accredited and insured with BABTAC: the leading association in cosmetology and beauty. We interviewed Sian about her specialist work as a spa therapist & Yoga teacher – check out the Q&A below…

1) Tell us a bit about yourself.

Kia ora! I’m Sian, born in New Zealand and bred in the UK. I have lived and travelled in Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, Thailand, and Europe. I have settled for now in the beautiful tree-filled Worcestershire. I am passionate about wellbeing, food, movement, community, and nature. I prove too curious for my own good, with a research thirst that can’t be quenched and a long and eclectic Google search log! I live on a narrowboat with my husband, dog, and stepson.

2) What does a typical day look like for you?

I’m afraid there’s no such thing as a typical day – no two are the same! Ah, the beauty of self-employment. I complete mobile work in a youth centre, at Swallowfields, and at a residential home. You can guarantee fresh cooking and a dog walk every day. Today, I am starting with a dog walk and teaching a yoga lesson via Zoom. I then have a few massages with some lovely long-standing clients and a swim, followed by a yoga session for myself and dinner with friends. I’ll squeeze in a trip to the wholesalers and lots of admin in between. Pretty jam-packed!

3) How did your spa therapist and yoga journey start?

My therapy journey began at 17. After realising university wasn’t for me and changing direction, I went to college to study beauty therapy. Those were some of the best times of my life. I instantly loved looking after people and making them feel good in their own skin, giving them the time and space to unwind. My love and interest in the human body and its magic sprang from there.

I went to my first yoga class at 12 years old and was mesmerized by the teacher’s voice, the calm energy in the room, the incense burning and the way I felt afterwards. I spent my early 20s standing on my head and trying out the craziest postures I could. A health scare in my late 20s turned me to the subtlety of yoga; breathing, meditation, and relaxation are where I found a whole new meaning to yoga. I completed my training in 2017 and have been teaching yoga ever since.

4) What are the main benefits of yoga?

Yoga is a personalised journey that anyone can practice at any stage of life with any capabilities – regardless of gender, religion, or ability. It is a holistic practice that provides many benefits, including improving stress relief, mental and physical health, flexibility and strength, keeping joints healthy, posture and overall sense of wellbeing.

5) What’s the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is the people I have met, the places it takes me, and the sense of fulfilment I feel from helping people take refuge, even if only for an hour.

    We’re animal-lovers here at Swallowfields and we understand that your dog is a big part of your family, so why leave them behind?

    They’ll be right at home in our pet-friendly safari lodges. There’s oodles of room for them, their bed, bowls and fave toy! All that we ask, is that you keep them on a lead when walking around on-site and don’t leave them unattended.

    For just £25 per dog, per stay*, you can make sure the entire family get their hands (and paws) on our wonderful glamping experience! Oh, and don’t forget to ask us about our complimentary doggie essentials pack too!
