Summer Walks in the Malvern Hills

It’s scientifically proven that sunshine makes us happy. Exposure to natural light increases the body’s production of Vitamin D, AKA the ‘sunshine vitamin’, which has a whole host of health benefits. Walking is the perfect activity for a sunny summer’s day, allowing you to explore your surroundings, improve your fitness, and boost your mood. Here are some of our favourite walks in the Malvern Hills that are guaranteed to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated this summer…

Nothing says “summer” like a relaxing staycation at Swallowfields. Our rural escape is situated in the spectacular South Worcestershire countryside, boasting two luxury safari lodges, an honesty shop, a nature hideout, and even a spa tent. Enjoy laid back life at its very best and leave feeling brand new, just like the swallows that flock to our fields every summer…

Discover our two luxury safari lodges with an open plan living/kitchen area, three separate bedrooms, a glamorous bathroom, spacious decking, and a private garden with hot tub. Why not spend a summer’s afternoon in your very own garden area, napping in the sun on the hammock, catching some rays on the sun lounger, tucking into a delicious BBQ or unwinding in the hydrotherapy hot tub? When the sun goes down, spend the evening sitting around the campfire singing songs and eating s’mores, before retreating to the decking for a tasty tipple from the drinks cabinet.

Step outside your safari lodge and explore our beautiful 3-acre wildflower meadow with a designated nature hideout area and adventure castle. Tuck into a delicious picnic in the meadow, challenge your family members to a friendly game of croquet, let the kids burn off some energy in the adventure castle or discover a wonderful array of wildlife in the nature hideout. The only limit is your imagination!

Malvern has long been associated with healthy living, ever since it originated as a spa town. Many benefits have been linked to its spring water, as well as people. Charles Darwin, Queen Victoria and Florence Nightingale are all said to have enjoyed its therapeutic qualities.

It’s a legacy that’s lived right on to this day and one we wholeheartedly embrace. Not only are we fortunate to be nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, we live and breathe nature and its many benefits.

There’s no pounding the treadmill at Swallowfields, just beautiful walks with wonderful vistas provided by nature. Come visit our retreat and enhance your wellbeing in the best way for you, from reading a book and taking naps in your own hammock to cooking on a campfire and enjoying spa treatments. Our world awaits you…
